The process to restore gun rights will not apply to every felony conviction*, and the process may not restore your right to own a firearm even if you have certain misdemeanor convictions. There are also bans on gun ownership or possession for certain misdemeanor convictions that can be for 10 years.
*It doesn't make a difference if you were found guilty in a trial, you pled guilty or plead no contest (nolo contendere) to a felony. It still counts as a felony conviction.
